A thousand years later in 1994, billionaire David Xanatos purchases the gargoyles' castle and has it reconstructed atop his New York skyscraper, the Eyrie Building, thus awakening Goliath and the remainder of his clan. In 994, the clan lives in a castle in Scotland. The series features a species of nocturnal creatures known as gargoyles that turn to stone during the day, focusing on a clan led by Goliath. Now, here in Manhattan, the spell is broken, and we live again! We are defenders of the night! We are Gargoyles! Stone by day, warriors by night, We were betrayed by the humans we had sworn to protect, frozen in stone by a magic spell for a thousand years. I have attempted to clear up the many questions I’ve received about Legendary Potential, I have expanded upon the Monstrosity End owment, and I have also included chara cter sheets of some of the major characters from the series. These rules are mostly unchang ed from the previous edition, but there are some additions. Anyone who’s read my stuff will likely agree.
It is perhaps a sad fact that I have put more thou ght into this work than I have put into some of my professional projects. My friends have all begun to dread whenever I say the word “gargoyles” now, and they believe I am somethin g of a nut.
